Because we agreed. If it was within my power to help you leave that I would; it's within my power, we're leaving, and you're joining us presumably.

Essentially. It's better to humor him and, as much as it pains me to admit, his concerns are not entirely unfounded.

Ingrained behaviors are difficult to shake; there is also his position in Infernal Affairs to consider. I would not be entirely surprised if there wasn't a line of demons outside of his office daily, waiting for the opportunity to throttle him.
